On 29/07/21, the National Video Conferencing Service hosted the Scottish Government webinar, “What can we learn from NASA about leadership?”, aimed at NHS Staff throughout Scotland. The event was chaired by Gregor Smith, Chief Medical Officer for Scotland and featured JD Polk, NASA Chief Health & Medical Officer and Nigel Packham, NASA Director of Safety & Mission Assurance. Each speaker presented a story of how their career started and continued to evolve. It was a unique opportunity for NHS staff to learn from leaders in another high intensity field as well as develop transferrable skills to support their own leadership journey in health and care. The event was hosted using Microsoft Teams Live Events, and supported by the NVCS Team before and during the event to ensure the event ran smoothly. The National Video Conferencing Service continue to offer a webinar hosting service through Teams Live Events. We have hosted over 200 events since the service was offered in July 2020.
